I always wanted a hanging organizer for my VW, especially on the back panel where there is a bunch of flat, wasted space.  But the ones I saw online were well over $300 and also made out of leather and outside of the country.

I’ve had a lot of fun making tool rolls out of waxed canvas, which behaves a lot like leather (and is actually made out of paraffin, not bees-wax).  So, I thought – why not roll my own? I liked them so much that I ended up listing them on etsy and recently sold two.

 

 

 

 

The organizer that I made for the side of the van is great (see below), but my goal is to make a larger one that covers all the blank space on the inside wall…maybe contouring around the upper shelf/cabinet and the propane heater controls.  I did have fun figuring out how to sew mitered corners with waxed canvas though!
